Sleeping beauty

I slept a lot this weekend! Mom & Dad took naps with me & Willow on Saturday, Sunday, and even Monday. I learned how to rest up on the big bed, without trying to poke holes in the sheets or eat the ducky. It was nice.

On Saturday we went to the farmers’ market – did I see you there? I met so many people. They all pet me and smiled at me, and were nice to Willow, too. Mom & Dad got to tell lots of people all about cardi corgis. I met 2 nice girls – Mom & Dad knew their Mom – one of them picked me up and hugged me nice. We saw them again, and I got more hugs. I liked her. I met all kinds of dogs, too. Willow seemed to know everyone!

I’ll be at the market again on Saturday. If you’re there, come up & say hi!!

Rolling right along

I was a car dog a lot this week. Last night was the best – Mom & Dad piled us all in the car, and I barked a little bit, and then they got me out of my crate and we were at Pet Smart! Yippee! I saw my old neighbor Tanya, and she cuddled me a while. I tried to chew on her a few times, but I don’t think Mom noticed. I met a lot of other nice people there, too, and saw some other dogs, too. There was so much to see!

After, Willow and I waited in the car for a few minutes, and then the next time we got out we were at the best place ever, Bruster’s. We stood on line (Daddy wants Mom to write “in line”, but Mom’s from northern NJ, so we say “on line”) and lots of people smiled at me. Our neighbors Gary and Carol were there, too. Then we went to a bench and, surprise, I got to eat ice cream!!!!! Willow & I each had our own dish, and there was a whole scoop and a dog biscuit. After my snack I played for a bit with 2 nice girls that came by. They said they go to the farmers’ market, so I might get to play with them again.

My big accomplishment this week: I can climb stairs! Not just the couple of stairs in the front of the house, but I can go from downstairs to upstairs. I do it all the time! There’s a gate at the top, so there’s nowhere to go when I get there, but it’s still fun. I’m not very good at going down. I try to do it one at a time, but most of the time someone helps me. I kind of like to tumble down the last 2 onto my bed at the bottom, but Mom says that’s not very safe.

Cousins

Yesterday my pack grew by three: I added Aunt Debbie, Matthew and Hannah. Yippee!

Willow & I played for a few hours in the morning, and then Mom & Dad piled us all into the car. We drove for a really long time until we got to a place called Mount Vernon. Aunt Debbie, Matthew and Hannah were there, too! Mom says they live by where I was born. Anyway, we played in the grass for awhile, and then we went for a long long walk one the bike path. I walked very nicely on my leash; I was so proud to be taking a walk with Dad & Willow. Sometimes bicycles would go zooming by – I think I could have caught one of them if Dad had let me. I would like to chew on the bicyclists’ shoelaces.

After the walk we went to a park. Dad did some training with me while Matthew and Hannah played on the slides and stuff. There was a lot of mulch in the playground, but Dad wouldn’t let me eat any.  There was so much, I don’t think they would have missed a few pieces.  After training we all went to a white truck and Matthew & Hannah got treats.  Mom had a pineapple fruit bar and she let me sneak a few licks.  Yummy!

I love Aunt Debbie, Matthew & Hannah.  They were a lot of fun, and they played with me lots.  I think they love me, too.  I’m glad they’re in my pack.

The Circle!!!!!

Guess what! I got to leave the yard this morning and walk with Dad & Willow up to the circle in the neighborhood. We went with our neighbor Joe and his dog Isabel, who is Willow’s best friend. I like Isabel; she’s a Jack Russell. Anyway, Joe and Isabel were going for a walk, and Willow wanted to go, too. Both Willow & I were on our leashes, so Dad said we could go with. I’ve never been to the circle. It’s around the corner from the house, and it’s a big grassy spot. Dad told Mom that I did better than Willow on my leash, because Willow stopped to sniff everything. Yippee, I’m getting good at leash stuff!

Did I tell you that Isabel has a sister cat named Peanut? Peanut is really really old. I think Mom said 24, but I can’t count that high so I don’t know how old that is. It sounds old. Willow likes to give Peanut two licks on the head; I try to get in 4 or 5 licks and some nose rubs before Peanut bats me away.

I’m also supposed to tell you that I was bad this morning (even though I was good on my leash). I tried to eat everything in sight. Sorry Dad.

Another friend

I forgot – I made another friend, too.  His name is Andy and he loves dogs.  I added him to the pack on Monday.  And guess what?  He likes the people at the pub, too!

Brains!

Sorry I haven’t written in awhile – I’ve been too busy trying to chew everything in sight to tell Mom what to type for me. Mom and Dad say I’m a little zombie dog, but I don’t get it.

Wiki, Willow & JimI’ve had a lot of fun the last week and a half. My pack is now international! I added a new member last week, my friend Jim from Switzerland. I love him! He has a beard that I like to jump up and try to chew on. He pets me and rubs my belly and always has a smile for me.

I saw Dr. Brown again – she gave me some Cheese Whiz! And Mom & Dad took me & Willow to the farmers’ market. We met lots of people and I saw lots of other dogs. They were all very polite. I watched Willow – she was very nice to people, and scored lots of belly rubs. I have to figure out how she does it, so I can get belly rubs, too. I’ll think about that once I finish trying to chew on everyone in sight. Mom & Dad & Jim took me & Willow to see everyone at the pub, too, and that was great!! I even got to try some bacon!

I have learned a lot, too. When people call me to come, I run to them. I am good at sitting. I walk with Daddy when he tells me to. Last night I learned “off.” I am learning to go inside and to crate up. And I can pee on command (and sometimes not on command).

Now that I’m not trying to eat Mom’s fingers every time she’s near, perhaps I’ll be able to focus enough again to tell her what to type soon. If you don’t hear from me, then you’ll know what I’ve been up to.

Out on the New Town

Yesterday when Mom came home to walk me & Willow at lunchtime, we raised a ruckus and got her to take us car dogging.  I was a little sad because we had to take our naps anyway, but after work Mom & Dad came and showed me around New Town.  Willow walked and Mom carried me.  We knocked on the salon window and I met a new friend Jennifer, who smiled and waved at me.  Then we walked past the movie theater and book store, and we went into a store to look at dog collars and leashes.  They didn’t have any for me.  I was also bummed because there were frisbees, too, but we didn’t get one.
