Giving Thanks

Last Wednesday, we took a really really long drive. Willow & I snoozed the whole way, and when we got out of the car we were at Grandma & PopPop’s! I love them soooo much; I especially like to try to lick PopPop on the head. After I did my “I’m so happy to see you” dance, Willow & I got to play for awhile. Outside it smelled familiar, and Willow said that’s because we were born only 5 minutes away.

The next day was Thanksgiving. We got up and had a Grand Chase, and then my cousins Nate and Justin and Aunt Karen and Uncle Kevin came. I did the dance for them, too, but they looked a little confused. Nate is fun to play with, and I tried really hard to play with Justin, but it took him awhile to warm up. Did I mention that the house was starting to smell really really yummy? Later on my cousins Matthew and Hannah and Aunt Debbie came, too. It’s so fun to have so many people to play with!

Daddy & Willow & I took a nap, and Willow woke us up to say that it was time to carve the turkey. We got some treats, then Unce John came and we all went to the table to eat. Willow and I got to hang out underneath – it was such a big cozy den under there, and everyone’s feet smelled good. We were such a big family!

Wiki on the slideThe next day we got to play with all the kids again. Nate and Grandma took Willow for walks, and I got to lick everyone. And do my happy dance a lot. We all piled into the cars and went to a playground. Mommy helped me and Willow go down the slide. Just once. It was fun, but I’m not sure I need to do it again. I don’t think Willow liked if very much, but Mom & Dad sure did! I also went down the biggest staircase ever!!!

I’m thankful for my Mom & Dad, and Willow, and Cooper, and everyone else in my pack: Grandma, PopPop, Grandma Elaine, Aunt Karen, Uncle Kevin, Nate, Justin, Aunt Debbie, Uncle John, Matthew, Hannah, Nancy and Joe and Isabel, Miss Nancy, Jim, John and Mick, Bill and Mike, Jeff, Corinne, Joey, Sean, Westie and Piper, and everyone else. And I’m thankful for all my blog friends, too!

Dog Island

I love to snooze on soft things.  There’s Willow’s bed (she doesn’t use it, so now it’s mine), and Mom & Dad’s bed (but I’m not allowed on there for awhile), and the sofas.  I like to snuggle next to Willow.  I like to snooze on the chaise, so I can look up and watch Cooper in his kitty condo.  When Mom sits under the afghan, I like to snuggle on top of her feet.  But my favorite, best of all soft place is when Mom & Dad throw the big sofa pillows on the floor.  Usually they’re blocking the upstairs, but sometimes they’re flat on the ground, and I can perch on top of one.  The long one is my favorite, but usually I have to make do with a small one.  Then Mom & Dad sing the “Dog Island” song to me.  It sounds like “Pig Island” but they changed words for me.  They must love me a lot.

Leaves

This morning I got Mom & Dad to let me and Willow go outside about a hundred times.  Really.  Now, I didn’t have to pee each time, but I made them think I did.  What I really wanted to do was sniff leaves.  And eat them.  I’m not sure which I like best – there’s yellow ones, red ones, green ones, brown ones, and some spotted ones that Mom tries to keep me away from.  Maybe I’ll pick the yellow ones, since they’re from the rose bushes, and I’m a girl so I should like roses like Mom does.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy late Birthday, Dad!  Thanks for sharing your day with me & Willow and taking us to our class.  I love you.  I’ll try to be a better dog.  I’m sorry you had to call me Wiki Pee Pants yesterday.  Did I mention that I love you?

Also, I’m glad that your cold is feeling better.  Maybe now that you’re ok, you can take me out for ice cream?

Ubuntu

Dad says I’m allowed to tell you that the reason that you haven’t heard from me is because he converted my computer to Ubuntu.  Even data dogs need a little time to learn a new operating system!

Delinquent

Mom says I’m a delinquent, because I’ve been lazy about writing my blog.  I’m not sure if I care!

Last Saturday I got a C- at advanced obedience school.  Sorry Miss Nancy – I’ll try to do better next week.  It was just so hard, with all those leaves blowing around!

This week I was Sick.  With a capital S.  I woke up early early on Wednesday, and Mom & Dad took nice care of me.  Mommy stayed home with me & Willow.  By afternoon I was feeling well enough to have a brief Grand Chase with Willow around the house, so I knew I was better.

Mom & Dad took me & Willow to Petsmart on Thursday night.  I got a present.  It’s a black Kong, and I like it that Mom puts treats in it for me.  This is the first toy that is all mine.  I’m so happy to have a toy that is mine and was never Willow’s.  I love my toy.  I wish that Willow had one, too, so that she would stop coveting mine.  Sometimes she takes it, but I bark “in a shrill manner” (I sound like Mom), and then it gets rescued.  Besides, Willow has her tennis ball.  Mom & Dad call that Wimbledon time, and think that we don’t know what that means, but we do.

I have to go now; Mom & Dad are taking us to see our friends at The Pub.  I’ll try to write tomorrow to tell you about class.

Bye!
